Happy Sunday to you!
I don’t know your relationship with Sundays. Are they days when you don’t go to work and so have a different, more leisurely routine? Is it made special because of the time you get to spend with your family and friends? Or is it precious because this is YOUR day; a day you are free to devote to your passions and hobbies? Or yet again, is this the day when you take time to lift your head from the grind of daily routine, smell the flowers and delve deep under the humdrum surface of life?
No matter which reason from those above, maybe all, maybe none, lend a glow to this seventh day of the week, here is something I collected for you to read. I hope you enjoy this week’s offering.

C. Joybell C. is a writer. Having said that, I don’t know what to say next. Not because I haven’t enough to say but because I have too much. She is not your everyday writer. She writes the kind of things that make you wonder why she was the chosen one getting insights and wisdom directly from God. A long time back, I did a post comprising only of her quotes. You may read it here.
Today I am sharing a post from her blog. Here is an excerpt:
Lately, I have been thinking about society’s attitude towards mistakes. I’ve said recently, that the world will tell us over and over again that mistakes are always good and I myself have once said, “So what? This is life! A whole bunch of mistakes!” Nevertheless, I do feel that when this creed falls upon a ground that has not yet been tilled, it creates stupidity. Yes, we are free to make mistakes but on the other hand we are also free to choose the experiences that we allow to take root into our lives or to even become a part of our lives, in the first place. The thing is, once a mistake is made, you will have to live with the consequences of those actions that are most probably going to be far-reaching and will touch not only your life but the lives of those whom you love.

Luciferhouseinc, aka The Fool, aka Karthik L is well known in the Indian Blogsphere. He is a Sci- Fi and Suspense aficionado. His writing is always well researched and smooth. A passionate reader, his blog is a treat to read.
The post I am sharing today connected with me instantly. What child (or adult), with red blood in his/ her veins hasn’t dreamed of emulating their favorite sleuth? It is a given, it is an obligation, it is a solemn duty. In this post, Karthik writes about his own craving to do the same:
The real world is sometimes so real that at times it can get galling and suffocating. Going to school, sitting through 8 hours of classes, coming home, playing for an hour, then studies, then 9.00 pm DD serial and finally sleep. Again next morning you get up and go through the same routine. The only relief comes from books, where exciting things happen and the characters do things that you have always wanted to do but have never been able to. Some are content to live their fantasies in the books and then get back to the real world. But then there are others who want to make the fiction the reality of their lives. During my school days, I was of the second kind.

Dish #3:
If you’ve ever wondered how to answer a clever manipulator who thinks he can dangle the carrot of a large order in the future and get you to work for free because of it, wonder no more. Step- by- step guide is at hand, the phrases all polished for you, the wit all perfectly in place. All you need is to send the clever one a link to this and they’d get the point. If they don’t, go over and do that thing you do with a cricket bat. The one in which the said bat connects rather abruptly with the back of their head. Messy, but effective. You know that, right?
There is no excerpt to share for this one. You’ll have to read it all live, so to speak. No sneak previews. Trust me, it is ripe, fruity stuff.

The week at Serenely Rapt has been buzzing like anything. Here’s what happened:
- How Do You Define Yourself: This is a beautiful, introspective post by the beautiful Janaki Nagraj sharing her own journey to self- definition. She leaves you to find your own answer to her question How do you define yourself? Do read this lovely post.
- Four Minute Mile: For years, human beings could not break the barrier of running a mile in less than four minutes. This post explores why and shows how you may break your own barriers to get to the next level in your life.
- Becoming A Monk: Do you find yourself ignored, almost as if you didn’t exist? Do you find your work and your expertise un-acknowledged? Then this is the post for you because it shows- tongue firmly in cheek- how you can shine and get your share of the limelight.
All my life I had been looking for something, and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was. I accepted their answers too, though they were often in contradiction and even self-contradictory. I was naïve. I was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions which I, and only I, could answer. It took me a long time and much painful boomeranging of my expectations to achieve a realization everyone else appears to have been born with: that I am nobody but myself.

One step at a time, one week and one day at a time, we move ever closer to becoming Who We Are Meant To Be, don’t we? Can anything be more exhilarating?
What about you? What did you learn this week?
Lovely post and a great highlight at the dessert section. its the picture of the girl that got me with its saying. So true! Thanks!
Kajal, Thank you so much. I’m so glad you liked. Janaki’s post was indeed the highlight of the week. 🙂
That was indeed a pleasant surprise. Thanks for showcasing my post. Will check out the other ones you have put up as well. Good initiative – putting up a weekly best of blog-o-sphere.
You are welcome Karthik. I loved that post of yours. It reminded me so strongly of my own hunger for the kind of ‘adventures’ that the characters in the books were having. 🙂
What a great read my dear… Beautifully composition :).
Thank you. I’m so happy you liked. 🙂
I was wondering what you are offering for Brunch and I loved the collection here Dagny 🙂
My Sunday is never relaxed…in fact its more busier than week days. I just squeeze in some ME time when ppl at home take a nap !
Could relate with what Karthik has written abt…the routine was just the same everyday, since the day I found out abt books. Nobody in my family had this reading trait, so I had to rush through many books, when the trait hit me in my teens !!
I am sure many of us can relate to what Karthik has written. More often than not, we turned out to be the only people who were nuts about books. I was fortunate that my mother was an avid reader too. She knew what books meant so she made sure I never lacked for reading material. I guess she fed my passion… as she fed hers. May she RIP.
I am so glad you liked this week’s collection. Thanks for reading. 🙂
Aha, I missed a couple of brunches. And just caught up. Another fantastic collection. Especially loved Karthik’s one 🙂
I knew you’d live Karthik’s post. It was just so… alluring. So much nostalgia… the memory of so many dreams.
Good to see you back. 🙂
