“You’ve been avoiding me for two weeks. You don’t say hello; you don’t reply when I do. What’s wrong?”
Silent glare.
“You have to tell me!”
“I hear you’ve been trying to get cozy with Sheena even though you know she is my girl.”
“No! How could you even think I’d do such a thing?!”
Two
“Did you use my system yesterday when I was on leave?”
“No I didn’t! Why?”
“Only you have my password. My presentation for today’s board meeting is missing from my hard-drive. How could you do this to me?! You really hate me, don’t you?”
“No! How could you even think I’d do such a thing?!”
Three
“How did mom know that I have enrolled myself in the music academy instead of the college?!”
“She has her ways of finding out I’m sure!”
“You’ve always interfered in my life! Why can’t you leave me alone?! You must’ve told her, tattle tale!”
“No! How could you even think I’d do such a thing?!”
Four
“Your phone has been busy for almost an hour.”
“I was talking to Meera, trying to teach her math on the phone. It was so very exhausting!”
“I also found your ex- boyfriend’s phone busy while yours was busy. Are you two- timing me?”
“No! How could you even think I’d do such a thing?!”
Five
“Wow! That’s a handsome watch! How much was it?”
“Oh! I got this for eighteen hundred. Good?”
“Yeah good. What did you do with the balance two hundred?”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m missing two thousand from my wallet. You took it, didn’t you?”
“No! How could you even think I’d do such a thing?!”
oh yeah! I hear you. And the shallow understanding can be way worser than the ones you mention above. In btw, what a creative way to use 55 fiction to make a point!
Bhavana, It can be far worse, yes. And deeply hurting. The kind of hurt that makes you blame yourself for being a sucker… to believe that you wouldn’t be misunderstood… for feeling a comfort which (as it turns out) existed only in your imagination. What could be more hurting than for you to turn on yourself?
Wow! wonderful. Yeah, we tend to get judgmental in our understanding of others at times.
We just assume- stupidly- without bothering to delve deeper into the reasons.
So pleased to see you here Janu 😀
How quick we can be to jump to assumptions
As they say, for some people jumping to conclusions is the only exercise. One can’t really begrudge them that. 😀
Ah yes, sadly this happens and is so very hurtful! Assumptions really do make and as ass of you and me.
Looks like lots of people are eager to prove their asinine-ty. 😀 And to drag you into the mad bath with them. 🙁
Haha.. loved all of them, especially the last one 🙂
Thank you Diwakar. Good to see you here 🙂
